Yoga Therapy

As a musician and artist often struggling with everyday life, I’ve found that yoga therapy is a powerful means of self-study, change, and acceptance.

As a yoga therapist and teacher, I’m deeply engaged in helping you guide yourself to who you are. My passion is to help you peel back the layers you’ve acquired and built over the years, which may not serve you and may even be harming you.

If you:

  • yearn to be accepted for who you are

  • have difficulty expressing yourself freely and creatively

  • want to strengthen your resilience

  • need warmth, support, and honesty…

I can help you! I’m a super-creative, welcoming, and collaborative partner.

Working with me

When I meet with you I bring my whole self, including my own foibles and struggles. It means I’ll be real with you.

I want to dispel the idea that there’s some mystical and mythic Yoga person you or I need to be. Your job is to show up as you are right now and my job is to help you alleviate your suffering.

Depending on what we discover together during our intake, sessions will likely include a mix of:

  • Breathing

  • Vocal practices

  • Alignment

  • Yoga poses/practices, especially restorative & nidra

  • Meditation

  • Mantra

  • Self-study through reading and discussion

Inner Monkeys helped by doing yoga therapy
Registered 500-hour Yoga Teacher emblem

I’m proud to be a registered 500-hour yoga teacher through Yoga Alliance.

In total I’ve completed over 850 hours of training in yoga teaching and yoga therapy.

What exactly are inner monkeys?

The term “inner monkeys” is a metaphor (often attributed to the Buddha) for the constant chattering thoughts inside our heads, which leap from branch to branch and demand our attention.

Sometimes these inner monkeys are playfully distracting, but at other times our inner thoughts can be critical, destructive, and debilitating.

Rather than battling against those inner monkeys, my approach in our yoga therapy sessions is to befriend them, to redirect their energy so they become strong allies and guides.
